Polynesian & Hula
Renee began her dance career at the age of 4. She first started baton twirling with the San Pablo Twirlettes and then joined Adrienne’s Dance Studio to learn tap and ballet. Her love for dance grew which lead her to pursue more classes, like jazz, classical ballet, hula and Tahitian. It has always been Renee’s dream to be a dance teacher. She was given the opportunity to be the assistant Polynesian Kumu (teacher) in 2005, then later took over the Polynesian department. Renee teaches dances of many cultures, including Hawaii, Tahiti and Maori. She continues her Polynesian dance education by attending local Aloha Festivals, Tahiti Fetes and workshops. Renee loves teaching and has always felt connected to the Aloha Spirit, which she has shared with her daughters, Maile and Erika, who also dance at Anjee’s Dance Etc.
